Customized Ruger SR1911 by Mag-Na-Port

A classic 1911 design, Ruger’s SR1911 took the shooting industry by storm when it first appeared. Our gun is a stainless steel .45 ACP model, nicely customized by the pros at Mag-Na-Port. Building on the factory features, Mag-Na-Port added the following custom touches:

Custom Features:

Custom ports through slide and barrel.

Etch Mag-Na-Port Logo.

Machine scallops along slide top (Shark Teeth!)

Skeletonize slide.

Mirror polish barrel hood.

Polish and jewel hammer and trigger.

Velvet hone/matte glass beaded finish.

Mirror polish and jewel bushing (front of frame).

Mirror polish/jewel sides of slide.

The build sheet accompanying the pistol states: “Custom services performed by Ken Kelly/Mag-Na-Port International for: 2014 Shooting Industry Masters.”

Additionally, the custom SR1911 comes with a remarkable, handmade, all leather holster by Karla Van Horn of Purdy Gear. Karla has been featured in the pages of American Handgunner many times and is arguably among the top small handful of true master leather workers. Her rendition of the classic Askins Avenger is hand-tooled and shows a degree of fit and craftsmanship not often encountered in any art form. As Roy Huntington, Editor of American Handgunner said, “Karla should be considered a National Treasure for her talent.”
