I’m old enough to remember when Gaston Glock released his radically new striker-fired, polymer-framed funny looking gun. Causing quit the stir; it didn’t take long for the progressive poly-framed gun to catch on. When people actually shot them, they were impressed with this highly functional delivery system for massive quantities of ammo, especially compared to those of us toting wheelguns. 17+1 surely trumped 6 beans in the wheel.
Before you knew it, the Glock profile became recognized as the universal icon for pistols. People round the world knew what it was.
Black Aces Tactical Spruce-Up
As Glock’s became accepted, flourishing everywhere, people’s imaginations started taking root on modifying the blocky, rather ordinary looking pistol. Stippling the polymer frame was as easy as borrowing Jr.’s wood-burning iron and going to town. More elaborate customizations came to fruition and companies like Black Aces Tactical (BAT) knocked the ball out of the park with their version, without maxing out your credit card.
The $999 Deal!
Starting with a virgin Glock 19 Gen 4, BAT skeletonizes the slide design with machined cuts, giving it a really cool contemporary look. The top is milled for a Trijicon RMR sight and includes a cover, should you wish to remove the RMR sight, for straight, iron-sight shooting. Both slide and cover are given a black Cerakote finish, displaying a sleek, lighter feel and racy profile. A Ghost MFG full 3.5 lb. trigger kit provides a slick trigger pull.
Frames are stippled professionally with a 50W fiber laser from 7 choices of patterns. The laser far exceeds “hot iron” stippling with more precise and consistent patterning. Barrels are etched to match the frames.
So if you’re looking for a sportier version of your favorite Glock 19 compact, check out Black Aces Tactical. For $999, how can you go wrong? BAT has approximately 7-10 week lead-time at this writing. The Trijicon RMR sight is optional and extra.
