SNAGMAG

This is actually funny, but about 30 years ago I tried to use a single mag pouch to carry an Officer’s ACP short mag in my pants pocket, but the clip was simply too far down so the mag showed too much. I didn’t have enough sense to simply make another mag pouch and move the clip closer to the top edge of the pouch. Well, it seems somebody finally had enough sense to do something about it, and invented the Snagmag in the process.

Built around a highly skeletonized mag pouch of plastic or kydex-type material, it has a metal clip and a nifty “snag” protrusion that’s the magic of it all. The clip is set high on the pouch so the holder rides very low in your pocket, right where you’d carry a knife with a clip. The “snag” is aimed toward the rear seam of your pocket, with the mag inserted into the pouch, baseplate at the top, bullet points forward. When you grab the mag by reaching into your pocket, your finger aligns with the front of the mag like it would from a mag pouch on your belt. As you draw it out, you press rearward, forcing the hooked “snag” to grab your pocket. The pouch stays in your pocket but the mag comes out fast and easy.

I tried this many times and it actually works exactly as advertised. I often carry a Kimber Solo and this makes summertime pocket-carry easy. Gun goes in my right pocket, mag in my left. It honestly looks just like a knife or some small tool in your pocket. I’ve photo’d the Snagmag on the display card so you can see how the draw works from a pocket. The finger is on the front of the mag and the snag is pointing to the rear, ready to grab onto the pants’ seam there. If you look at the mag on the card, you can see the hooked “snag” on the left side. Snagmag has fits for just about any magazine. For size, that’s a Solo mag riding in it in the pic. This is genuine American ingenuity at work, and it’s 100 percent American-made. Well done you guys! For more info: https://americanhandgunner.com/company/snagmag/
