LensPen
The LensPen is something I’ve been using for years and this is the latest iteration. It uses what they call “molecular carbon cleaning technology” and soldiers, photographers, hunters, shooters and a host of others have relied on it for 25 years. According to LensPen, one is issued with every Trijicon ACOG riflescope in the military, and it’s endorsed by the likes of Nikon, Sony, Leupold, Schmidt & Bender and others like them. It’s also handy for cleaning night vision goggles, dashboard and body cameras — basically anything with a lens.
And, it’s easy to use. Use the slider to push out the brush, dust off the grit and loose grime, twist the cap off the other end and use the small cleaning tip to remove any dirt, grease, fingerprints and what-not from the lens. When you twist the cap back on, the “magic” carbon in the cleaning tip is recharged. They said it will manage about 500 cleanings before the magic goes away. All I know is it works like gang-busters and I keep mine handy all the time for scopes (gets to the lens easily) and binocs. I also just returned from a 2,000-mile motorcycle trip and I used mine at each stop to keep my glasses clean. Beats using a gritty, dirty hankie, eh?
