PCT Bushing Wrench

If you’ve ever had a recoil spring plug from a 1911 go airborne, you can see how cool this is. Most bushing wrenches have the cutout in line with the length of the wrench (90 degrees off from the PCT wrench). What happens is: you turn the wrench, the bushing moves, the plug becomes mostly “uncaptured,” and, unless you have a third hand, it often goes “sprong” and launches itself. Then you get to do the famous gunsmith prayer stance — on your hands and knees on the floor in the garage.

This elegantly simple idea from Present Arms allows the bushing to be turned, but then the handle of the tool covers the plug until you can get control of it from the hands of the devil-who-launches-things-in-your-garage. Made of synthetic polymer, the PCT (Plug Capture Tool) is well made and only costs about $10. Buy one for your buddy too. Present Arms is a small, veteran-owned company, so dig deep, help ‘em out, and make your life easier at the same time. If you don’t own a 1911, there’s still hope. Get a PCT then you’ll have to buy one! For more info: https://americanhandgunner.com/company/present-arms/, (413) 575-4656
