This Bersa polymer .380 concealed carry (hence, BP380CC) carries 8+1 rounds, measures only 0.94″ in width, and weighs only 21.5 ounces. So it doesn’t fire the most powerful round, only carries about half the cartridges many other guns do, and while it is thin and light, at 6.35″ in length and 4.8″ in height — it’s not exactly small. In a world of more powerful, higher capacity or more diminutive pistols, how does the BP380CC stand a chance? I’ll tell you how. It’s an absolute hoot to shoot. Put an easy-to-fire cartridge in a larger, but lightweight gun and you have a recipe for fun. Sure, .380’s may be at the bottom of the defensive round ladder but when you can shoot them accurately you’re suddenly a force to be reckoned with.

And I’m more than okay with only having eight rounds when I can easily and effectively pepper a paper plate with all eight in well under eight seconds. The gun’s larger frame and stocks means my whole hand gets around it. And that means control goes up. And so does confidence. All this makes the BP380CC a great choice for concealed carry, too. Any gun making it easy to shoot accurately and confidently while staying thin and keeping weight to a minimum qualifies for a concealed carry piece. Carry the Bersa’s spare mag and you potentially have 17 rounds of .380 at the ready.

The BP380CC retails for $430, offers a picatinny rail and decent stock sights which easily swap out for night sights. My favorite feature, besides its smile-on-my-face-shootability, is the double-action-only stroke empowered by the wide, flat trigger begging to be squeezed again and again! Practice fun.
